World Missions at Spokane Valley Baptist Church The Mission of the American Baptist International Ministries is to Glorify in God all the earth by crossing cultural boundaries to make followers of Jesus Christ. This is God's world. God created it good, but the world has been terribly twisted by human sin. The world is full of problems and challenges that feel overwhelming. But God is working to save and renew the world. Through Jesus Christ, God offers life to every person and promises renewal of the whole created order. Jesus calls all his followers to let the Holy Spirit transform them into participants in what God is doing. This saving, renewing work of God is what we call mission. Mission education- We share with the whole American Baptist Family what God is teaching American Baptists and their partners through cross-cultural mission. Urban Mission- We seek transformation in Christ for the cities of our world. Mission explosion- We help as many American Baptists as possible to join with believers around the world as participants in God's mission to, from, within all the worlds continents. As International Ministries responds to the leading of God's spirit in mission, we are committed to: Pray. Follow God's word. Share the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action. Treat others with respect, working and learning together as partners. Live out the model of Jesus, who came as a servant. Dedicate ourselves to those the world tramples or ignores. Help churches become healthy and mature. Involve all American Baptists in service to all the world. Cooperate with other churches in God's mission. Follow the spirit of God into new ways of working. Face honestly the dynamic tensions of life in mission. Care for people. Give our best to mission. Share the best of our baptist heritage. Stay accountable to our churches.
