White Cross at Spokane Valley Baptist Church For more than 80 years White cross has reached to people in need. It was started by two women at the close of World War I. There are many people who do not have even the most basic supplies for schooling, clothing or medical care. Through the White Cross mission support program, American Baptists seek to meet those needs by providing National, International Missionaries and lay leaders, with materials essential to their ministry. In the U.S., White Cross recipients include Native American Indian ministries, Neighborhood Action Christian Centers, inner city mission Churches, and mission sites in Alaska and Puerto Rico. Many Missionaries appreciate receiving supplies, instead of monetary contribution to purchase what is needed. They feel their time is better spent ministering.
